Sometimes it’s nice to chill in the studio with no live music and no special guest … this is one of those shows.

I was all by myself … nobody was looking … I was thinking of you!!!   :)

GIG

GIG

Gig is a term commonly used by musicians with reference to their performances. A gig is any type of performance with audience. You might say you have a gig when you have a show to play. When a musician or band is playing multiple shows in one location or is currently touring, the term used is gigging.

A great show with two very different bands. We got a little rock ‘n’ roll with Katie Colver … and then a touch folk with Alzara and her ukulele.

The show was a dynamic blast! Please check out the bands on their facebook pages & tune in to my show every Sunday from 6-8pm.

    It was a great show!!!

Opened loads of new CD's played tons of indie bands from the bay and far away.

HEAR TONS OF NEW MUSIC ON MUTINY RADIO

Notice all the plastic? I was hella breaking out CD’s and playing new tracks. In the last month I have received a lot of new music. Some of the CD’s were dropped off at the station, others were acquired while at SxSW, and a coup via my PO Box. It was a show of discovery for me and hopefully you.

It was awesome to have the opportunity to debut Steven Beebout’s new music.

It was also nice to have Wayne from Windmills on the show as a musical guest and not just an audience member. Shout outs to Kevin from Sunroom Recordz & Salon for making an appearance and hanging out with us. I’m looking forward to doing a podcast from your basement in the near future!

ATTENTION ALL SF BANDS!!

ATTENTION ALL SF BANDS!!

article by: Cristina Trujillo

Submit your press kits (ASAP) to perform at this year’s Whole Earth Festival in the City of Davis!

WEF attracts 1000’s each year and it’s known as the closest thing to Woodstock. Be part of the magic and fun as you entertain a mix of large crowds craving for raw musical talent. This eco-friendly – peaceful – tree hugging – Mary Jane friendly – hipster type of event could only get better with the performance of SF Bands!

You only have until the end of February to submit your applications! Submissions will not be considered after March 5th. So the sooner you get yours in the higher your chances are at getting selected.

  1. avatar Fab oviedo says:

im a solo artist who’s been playing music for 3 years pretty much
i write my own stuff , i have a set that can cover long hours of performance
i can pretty much do a solo acoustic performance or electric performance with my band members that collaborate to me as well
im recording a solo album with brian chamberlin in redhouse studios
i had a deal with lookout records before also
ive been in a lot of local bands
like sons of saturn and punchface
so i have a lot of experience when it comes about performing and stuff like that
i also recorded some demos with chris manning who was producer for metallica and santana for some of their songs
    ive also performed
with big musicians like dan rodriguez and chris kalgren from minessota
so ive been doing this for a while and i know what i do
i dont really care about money though im just looking for a nice show where i can play and have a nice time…

STEPS 5 & 6 OF PERSONIFY

STEPS 5 & 6 OF PERSONIFY

Create a Persona

article by: Stefan Aronsen

The 5 P’s of survival are Plan, Personify, Promote, Plug-in and Play. You now have survival tips 1-4 of Personify. Today I give you #5 and #6

5 _ CREATE A PRESS KIT: What you put in your press kit changes daily. However, simply having one is extremely important. I recommend keeping it simple, include a band bio, stickers and a cd. Some people may want a band photo, others may just laugh and draw mustaches on them.

6 _ ALWAYS CARRY CONTACT INFO: Similar to the Boy Scouts motto, be prepared, carry contact info implies just that. You never know when you’re going to run into a an industry professional that wants to work with you. Writing on your/their hand is not going to cut it professionally.
